Letter to Seedstars

Dear Seedstars team,

It's been great fun. Actually more than great fun. It's been a fucking blast.

There it is. I've said it. And it's true. Today, looking back at what we've accomplished I can't feel anything but pride. And here is why:

THE PAST

4 years ago, we started in a small office that was actually way to big for us. I don't think we could have imagined that one day, that same office would become too small as it quickly welcomed young, hungry and talented people working together toward the same mission and vision.

THE PRESENT

Since then, a few things have changed. We moved in a much bigger office. We used to take Skype calls in the hallway, sitting on the floor. We now have a house, a garden, a BBQ and conference rooms! Conference rooms for Christ sake! Can you imagine?

So, what happened there? I don't really know to be honest. But I'm pretty sure that you guys, the Seedstars team, made it possible.

You managed to bring some crazy people together. You managed to show them and explain them the vision and what we believe in. You also pushed them to their limit… It wasn’t sunshine and rainbow everyday but anyway… you always believed that it was actually possible. And you were right.

THE FUTURE

Today I’ve decided it was time for me to explore new things. To try new stuff, and to go all Alexander Supertramp on the whole thing.

It's hard to leave when you don't really know why you're leaving. You simply know it's better that way. Better for the team, better for the family.

THE SEEDSTARS FAMILY

Seedstars is the family you choose. Or maybe it's the family that chooses you.

Anyway... You can't really "leave" a family right?... So I guess I'm just going on a trip!

And as a wise man once said: I'll be back. I will. Simply a better version of myself.

"The most productive thing to do during times of change is to be your best self, not the best version of someone else".

Seth Godin.

We’ve done so many things together that I can’t recall all of them. But I’m pretty sure we’ve all danced together, we’ve send each other weird birthday wishes videos, and a lot of other things.

THANK YOU

Today I'm grateful. I'm grateful for the time we spent together. I'm grateful for the things I've learned and I just want to say thank you.

PA: Thank you for always believing that everything is doable. Thank you for always asking "why not" and for pushing your team to dream bigger.

Ben: Thank you for being always open. Always here for your team and for your patience when all we had for lunch was pork sausages and chorizo.

Mich: Thank you for keeping this mad house organised. For being the one that believes that risks are just part of the game and that anyone can achieve anything. And for welcoming your little bother in your universe.

Alisée: Thank you for that email on my last day. Thank you for being so contagiously optimistic.

Sandra: Thank you for being the SeedMama and for taking care of all of us. You can also thank Thierry :)

Kat: Thank you for being my INJF companion. For always being the one keeping calm and for sharing the way your feel.

Charlie: Thank you for being the Seedstars Superman. Literally, as you are the one holding the team together. And thank you for still laughing at our Superman jokes after 3 years.

Tiffany, Selam, Ana, Claudia, Nick, Enrique, Romulo, Marcello, Juliane, Igor, Greg, Virginie, Stephane: We haven't spend that much time together as you guys lives crazy live around the globe but thank you for believing in the Seedstars vision. Thank you for choosing to be part of this family. Thank you for being the most joyful team I've ever seen. Thank you for making your teammate laugh regularly, for your humility and for your happiness.

You are part of something bigger than all of us. So keep on rocking. I wish you the best of luck, even though you don't really need it.

I sincerely believe that you are the dream team, the A team. Keep helping and loving each other like you've always done.

Catch you on the flip side,

Alex.
